Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Courses

The Graduate School instituted a requirement for all doctoral students to complete a course focused on the responsible conduct of research. The National Institute of Health had determined that online training did not replace the need for face-to-face training. Although many students and faculty are required to complete the online CITI research training, the Graduate School sought to address the concerns raised by NIH. The result was the creation of a GRAD course on RCR, GRAD 8302. Some programs decided to create their course to meet the RCR requirement. As long as a course covered the nine areas of research outlined by NIH, the courses were approved. Currently, the following courses meet this requirement:

  • GRAD 8240
  • PHIL 8240
  • BIOL 8260
  • BDBA 8100
  • BDBA 8120
  • RSCH 8210
  • GRAD 8131
  • PSYCH 8107
  • OSCI 8102
  • PSYC 8102
  • HLTH 8601
  • PPOL 8602
  • SPED 8671

When taken together, these NUDN courses meet the requirement:
