Submit Dissertation Defense Announcement
To ensure a smooth process for your dissertation defense, please review all steps of the submission process below before completing the submission form:
- Review all required steps for submitting your dissertation.
- Dissertation final defenses are public events and are expected to be held in-person and on-campus. Zoom or other virtual setups for a defense may be granted for extenuating circumstances but must be approved by the Graduate School.
- To request a remote defense, please submit this form. Remote defenses must be approved prior to the deadline for publication of dissertation announcements (provided below)
- Challenges in scheduling the defense do not constitute a compelling reason to participate remotely without further information.
- Submission of this form must be completed and approved prior to the deadline for publication of dissertation announcements. It is recommended that you submit this form (if needed) at least 30 days before the scheduled date of your defense.
Complete and submit the dissertation defense announcement form at least two weeks before your proposed defense date. Double-check all information on the form for accuracy before submitting. You must submit this even if you have been approved for a remote defense.
You must be logged in with your UNC Charlotte email address to submit all forms. Submissions from other email addresses will not be accepted.
Once your announcement is approved, it will be visible on the official Dissertation Defense Calendar.
