Note: Expect delays due to added security. Please plan accordingly
During this time honored tradition, doctoral candidates will receive their diplomas, and be hooded by their faculty advisor. Participants should take note of these details:
-
Because seating in McKnight Hall is limited, tickets will be required of all guests.
-
Each candidate will be entitled to up to 4 tickets. After all candidates have indicated their ticket needs, there may be additional tickets to distribute. We will share information about additional ticket availability by April 15.
-
You, the candidate, and the faculty member hooding you will not need tickets.
-
Any guests who do not have tickets are welcome to view the ceremony from a remote viewing room on the first floor of Cone University Center.
-
A reception, open to all of your guests, will follow in the Lucas Room.
-
All those participating in the Hooding Ceremony must take part in a mandatory rehearsal on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 4:00 in McKnight Hall. Tickets for the Hooding Ceremony will be distributed during the rehearsal.
-
Candidates participating in the Hooding Ceremony will need regalia. The cost for basic regalia is covered by your student fees. Basic regalia can be picked up at the Commencement Fair March 12-14 or at the campus bookstore through the final deadline of Friday, April 26. Custom regalia entails a number of style, size, and price decisions, and it must be ordered by Monday, April 1. Please contact Linda Burke in the campus bookstore prior to April 1 to order regalia.
