(2) Your writing tool: (i) Overleaf.com, (ii) LaTeX on PC, (iii) LyX on PC.

(3) UNCC's thesis templates for LaTeX and LyX: (i) how to get them, (ii) what's in there, (iii) how to use them.

(4) Citations: tools for collating citations (JabRef as an example, Mendeley, and other tools available).

We will demonstrate some important problem-solving techniques as they relate to LaTeX/LyX document formatting : (i) Google it!, (ii) learn by example, (iii) "vacuum" test, (iv) transform the problem space (let LyX solve your LaTeX problem).
