While verbal communication can be improved with extensive practice, nonverbal communication directly impacts the audience’s ability to comprehend the message. Every gesture, from the movement of your hands to eye contact, will send different signals to the audience about your capabilities and understanding of the subject.
This is especially important when giving a presentation to a class, colleagues, committee, potential clients, or customers. What DO you do with your hands? What about eye contact, facial expression, volume, rate, articulation, gestures, posture, and other types of nonverbal communication?
In this workshop, we will discuss how to use vocal and bodily delivery for effective presentations. When used properly, nonverbal communication can support your message, showcase your personality, convey feelings, indicate a desired action, and even reduce tension.
