Primary and Secondary Research for the Workplace

April 20, 2023 - 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Zoom

Most students are thrilled to graduate college and transition into the full-time work force.  What most people don't realize, though, is the skill of conducting research and writing papers does not end with graduation.  In fact, an individual's ability to support messages with primary and secondary research for workplace communication is an important skill.

No matter your role in an organization, primary and secondary research are methods you can use to find information to make informed business decisions and to solve problems.  Understanding the differences between the two can help you determine which might be most helpful when searching for the answers you need.

In this workshop, we define primary and secondary research, discuss some of the major differences between them and list some examples of each to help you determine which might be most helpful to use in the workplace.

Presenter: Dr. Daryl L. Kerr, Adjunct Professor and former Professor of Management and Business Communication, Belk College of Business
